Energy Efficient Windows

Energy efficient windows is a term applied to high performance thermally broken windows. Energy efficiency can further be improved by special glass and by introducing argon gas between the panes in double glazed Aluminium windows and doors.

Today there is a drive at all levels for homes to be made more sustainable and more energy efficient.

With windows and doors accounting for approximately one third of the homes “envelope” or exterior surface making windows more energy efficient (double glazing) simply makes good economic sense. The days of cheap energy are coming to an end and we are seeing worldwide increased costs for fuel, for gas and for electricity. Governments and councils are legislating,  incentivizing and educating  home owners about  becoming  more energy efficient.

Energy Efficient

Energy efficiency applies equally in summer and winter. In summer the goal is to keep the hot sun outside  while in winter it’s to retain heat. Given the laws of nature heat will always try to escape or enter by the route of least resistance and  in many homes this is via windows and doors.
Thermally broken aluminium windows and joinery in association with Technoforms “warm edge” double glazing strips significantly help in creating truly energy efficient aluminium windows and doors . Double glazed thermally broken aluminium windows are the ultimate energy efficient windows.
